The Pixie Lights Story: Born in Cornwall, Crafted in Derbyshire

Pixie Lights was established in 2023, inspired by a powerful truth: in a fast-paced world, everyone deserves a place to retreat to—a sanctuary, a moment of peace to come home to.

Owned by Leanne Stapleton born in Cornwall and now living in Derbyshire, Pixie Lights is infused with enchanting folklore, myth and magic—a world where pixies frolic on the moors, shadows share ancient secrets, and tiny guardians of light guide traveller’s home.

With 30 Years of candle making experience as a hobbyist, she decided it was time start this small artisan candle making company for those who want something unique and Enchanting.

That enchantment isn’t just aesthetic—it’s a feeling. It’s the exhale at the end of a long day, the comfort of warm fragrance in the air, and the quiet reassurance that you can soften the noise of the outside world, even if only for a little while.

Now based in Derbyshire, Leanne weaves magic into every candle, merging timeless tradition and modern rituals to help you cultivate peace, balance, and emotional grounding.

After years navigating the high-pressure commercial property and housing sectors, Leanne recognised how stress and uncertainty have reshaped people’s emotional wellbeing in a post-Covid world.

As someone with Multiple chronic conditions her personal journey towards healing—through meditation and the simple joy of lighting a candle—sparked the creation of Pixie Lights to share the magic of candles inspired by the story of Omfra and Queen of the Pixies Joan the Wad herself.

Omfra went out one night on the moors and lost his laugh—and all the other pixies brought their torch lights to help him find it again. For us, it embodies the journey many of us have been on in an increasingly uncertain and stressful world, and the comfort of being guided back to ourselves.

And there’s the wonderful Joan the Wad—Queen of Piskies, Bringer of Luck, and keeper of the flame—who could be invoked when things go wrong: “Light me home, Joan, the weather’s bad.” At Pixie Lights, we carry that same intention in every pour: to make candles that feel like coming home—steady, comforting, and quietly magical, eco friendly and value for money.

We believe your home is your sanctuary and should feel good in every sense That’s why we focus on cleaner-burning, eco-conscious materials and small details that make a real difference to how your candle performs at home.

For our container candles, we use AO5 cocosoy wax—an eco-friendly wax chosen for its smooth finish, clean burn, and excellent scent performance. For our pillars, we use a SA27 soy–paraffin pillar blend, selected for the structure and burn characteristics pillars need.

• Wicks: We use cotton wicks for a steady, even burn.

• Containers: Our tins and vessels are designed to be recycled or reused.

• Fragrance: We primarily use fragrance oils to create our signature blends, sourced from reputable suppliers with a strong focus on quality and safety.

The result is a candle you can light with confidence—created to fill your space with comforting fragrance, support your rituals, and help you make home feel like your sanctuary.
