Summer is a peculiar season for candle-making. The world slows down… but I speed up. Because candle season starts long before the nights get darker.

Over the past few weeks, I stepped back to breathe and look at how far Pixie Lights has come over the last three years and let me tell you, those years have been incredibly challenging for my family and craft friends. The market is tough, customers are looking for value, and not all event organisers are created equally. Despite that, I booked our markets for the rest of the year, ordered beautiful new glassware for the Halloween collection, and blended new Happiness and De‑Stress scents that feel like sunshine and calm.

Behind the scenes, the website has had a quiet refresh too — small improvements, clearer product pages, updated scent descriptions, and a full review of how Pixie Lights appears online. It’s the kind of work you don’t always see immediately, but it makes everything feel smoother, calmer, and more “Pixie Lights”.

• A little life update

  In the middle of all this, life shifted a bit. I’ve started a new full‑time job as a Housing Repairs Supervisor, and I’ve been settling into that new rhythm while keeping Pixie Lights glowing. It’s been a season of reflection, preparation, and gentle progress.

  This has been my calm before the storm — a moment to reset, breathe, and get ready for everything that’s coming. The old cycle is done, and the chaos of Autumn as a candle maker is very welcome.
